Kelly Eye Center: Introducing Dropless Cataract Surgery in Raleigh, NC
At Kelly Eye Center, we are constantly looking for ways to improve our patient experience with cataract surgery. We are proud to announce Dr. Michael Kelly is the first physician to offer dropless cataract surgery in North Carolina.
Dropless cataract surgery is a new method of administering antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medicines into the eye during cataract surgery. The medication is safely absorbed over the next month. This procedure eliminates pre-operative drops, and in most cases, patients never need additional drops after surgery.
Standard drop therapy involves up to three different drops being administered up to four times a day for up to five weeks. That’s over 300 drops for someone having cataract surgery in both eyes!
With our Raleigh dropless cataract surgery, you can greatly reduce or eliminate the hassle and cost of prescription eye drops, and get back to normal activities sooner.
Benefits of Dropless Cataract Surgery

We expect most patients to choose dropless cataract surgery in the future, and are pleased to offer this innovative procedure in conjunction with Blue Ridge Surgery Center.
Please note that as with all medications, Tri-Moxi may come with side effects, including floaters, blurred vision and increased eye pressure. If you notice redness, pain or discharge in your eye following dropless cataract surgery, please call us immediately.
